Let's Hear it for the Boys

With yesterday's heat, meet records were tough ones to crack, but that did not stop one group of Randolph athletes from breaking an eight-year old record held by Mendham (2006). The 11-12 boys 4x100 relay team (yes, they're only 11-12) crushed the previous record of 55.13 seconds by over a second, crossing the finish in a mere 53.87 seconds! Congratulations to the smooth and speedy Chris Keaney, Kevin Jung, Aidan Kamp and Gary Dong.

For the second time in three seasons, our athletes gutted out a narrow victory against the strongest Mendham team in years to win the 2014 Lakeland League Championship. The 490 points by Randolph and the 467 by Mendham both shattered the previous meet record set by the 2012 Randolph squad (445). Every point by every athlete counted as the final results were in doubt to the very end. The heat of the day did not stop several personal bests from being recorded as well. Congratulations to all the coaches, parents, volunteers and of course the KIDS, for helping make this one of the most memorable seasons in Randolph history.

Relay, Triathlon and Pentathlon Success!

Everyone should congratulate the athletes who represented Randolph in the recent League Relays as well as last night's Tri and Pentathlon at home. The kids performed superbly. The relay teams dominated the Lakeland meet with too many names to mention, so if you haven't already, visit for all the amazing results. Last night, all four athletes from the home team came up with strong finishes. Kevin Jung (11-12) finished 4th overall, and Connor Kamp (13-15) was 3rd. Not to be outdone however, the ladies came through with second place finishes in their respective events, with Amanda Houston (11-12) and Kate Gihorski (13-15) taking the medals. Great job everyone!
